Why don't ophthalmologists have LASIK surgery?
Because of the patients asking me these questions, I thought that I should go through surgery first and put myself in their position. I had LASEK surgery instead of LASIK because of my high myopia and thin cornea.
I have been also thinking about similar questions while going through my ophthalmology residency, full-time corrective surgery doctor, and clinical professor. Many people still think that ophthalmologists do not have LASIK surgery because they are not sure about the safety of LASIK surgery, but that is not true.
