What is a cataract?
A cataract is an eye disease in which the lens that controls focus in the eye becomes cloudy, resulting in opacity and blurring of vision.
All the light entering the eye is refracted through the lens, which forms an image on the retina, and cataract is a disease in which light cannot be transmitted properly due to lenticular opacity. The main cause of cataracts is aging, but this can be caused by congenital cases, other diseases and trauma.
